Marie started running in 2007 after losing over 100lbs. She loves to race, usually running about 60 races a year. She's happiest running on the trails at First Landing State Park, mainly the fun side trails. She has never run a marathon but in December of 2014 completed the Seashore 50k after a successful late summer/fall training cycle. On non-run days Marie does the ARC trainer, rides her spin bike, power walks or rides the miles away around the local streets. She is currently on a workout streak, having not missed a day of exercise in over 9 years. A strong support system at home allows her to train and encourage others to either strive for more, or take up running to start with. Still a work in progress, she just started training by heart rate. She's always been a firm believer that people run their everyday runs too fast and this is apparently true for even her. "Run strong, finish happy" is her motto.
