Details:Join us for a free mobility clinic where we'll discuss mobility in runners, how we lose mobility and how we can regain mobility through strength training, and stretching! Whether you run recreationally or competitively, our hands-on clinic will teach you ways to become faster and avoid injuries in your running pursuit. The hands-on mobility clinic will encompass assessing and correcting running specific mobility and stability restrictions. There will be plenty of time for a Q&A with Doctors of Physical Therapy!

Presenter: Direct Performance Physical Therapy

Bio: Dr. Jake McCrowell earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with honors from Old Dominion University in 2010 and his B.S in Human Nutrition, Food, and Exercise with an emphasis on Exercise Promotion from Virginia Tech in 2007.

Jake is an expert in the area of specialized manual techniques, including spinal manipulation, joint mobilization, and trigger point dry needling, as well as movement and mechanical analysis. He combines his certifications with current evidence-based research in order to provide the best possible care to his patients who range from recreational athletes to CrossFit competitors and ultra-marathoners and professional athletes.

Bio: Dr. Amanda Davidson, DPT, MTC, CMTPT earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree with honors from University of St. Augustine in 2013 where the curriculum is heavily focused on manual therapy. Prior to PT school, she graduated summa cum laude from Clemson in 2011 with her B.S. in Health Science. Amanda focuses on manual therapies such as joint mobilization, spinal manipulation, myofascial release, and trigger point dry needling.

Amanda is an avid runner whose passion for running has carried over into her career. She uses video gait analysis and an in depth functional evaluation to determine the root cause of an athlete’s pain. She enjoys treating all types of orthopedic and sports injuries enabling patients to return to the activities they love.
