Bio: Dr. Merin Shekitka earned her M.S. in Kinesiology in 2002 and began her career as an Exercise Physiologist in outpatient physical therapy clinics. There she was responsible for developing rehab and post-rehab exercise protocols and aquatic therapy programs. Dr. Shekitka went on to earn her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 2015 and began providing care for a local military clinic. She is experienced in treating a variety of acute, chronic and post-operative musculoskeletal impairments by utilizing manual therapy techniques such as IASTM, dry needling, and joint mobilizations. She believes in a holistic approach to physical therapy, treating the entire individual and not just the diagnosis.
